# First comments

Post a first comment automatically right after a post goes live on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Threads.

A first comment is a comment Pozy adds to your own post right after it publishes. It is where links go on platforms that hide or penalise them in the caption, and where you put hashtags, credits or a call to action without cluttering the post itself. Set it with `firstComment` in the entry's `platformSpecificData`.

The comment is posted from the same account, after the post itself is live. For a scheduled post that is at the scheduled time, not when you create the post.

## Where first comments work

| Platform | Supported on | Limit and behaviour |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Instagram | Feed posts and carousels | Not on Stories. Captions cannot hold clickable links, so this is the usual place for them. |
| Facebook | Feed posts and Reels | Not on Stories. Skipped when `facebookSettings.draft` is `true`. |
| LinkedIn | Every post type | LinkedIn shows posts with a link in the text to fewer people, so a link in the first comment usually reaches more. Supports the same `@[...]` mentions as the post text. |
| YouTube | Videos and Shorts | Up to 10,000 characters. Posted and pinned to the top of the comments. |
| Threads | Every post type | Up to 500 characters. Posted as a reply to your post; with `threadItems`, a reply to the first post of the thread. It counts as one more Threads post toward the platform's daily limit. |

X, Bluesky and the other platforms have no `firstComment`. On X and Bluesky, add a follow-up post with [threadItems](https://pozy.ai/docs/publishing/threads) instead.

## Things to know

- **Drafts skip it.** A first comment is never posted for a draft, including TikTok and Facebook platform drafts.
- **It is a real comment.** It is posted by your account and appears with the post's other comments, so you can read and moderate it from the [inbox](https://pozy.ai/docs/inbox/comments).
- **Set it before publishing.** A published post cannot be updated, so `firstComment` cannot be added or changed afterwards. From then on the comment is managed like any other comment in the inbox.
